Chris Kamstra
My name is Chris Kamstra and I am the owner of Kamstra Construction. I have been a licensed contractor since 2006 and started my own company in the fall of 2013. For close to 20 years I was a lead foreman for Rosenthal Construction and Rosenthal Thornton Construction. While working for Joe Rosenthal I acquired a skill set that allows me to take on many diverse and challenging construction projects.
My parents immigrated from Holland to Canada in 1958 and in 1965 they moved to America. I was born and raised in Central Wisconsin and am the youngest of six children. In my youth my father enrolled me in Tae Kwon Do and after earning my 1st Degree black belt one of my first jobs was teaching martial arts. In the summer of 1991, I moved to Jackson, Wyoming, and worked for a Roofing contractor and as a Snowmobile mechanic in the winter. After living in Jackson for a year I moved to Mendocino in 1992 and started building custom homes.
I enjoy living on the coast for the beautiful location and amazing views. It can be isolated at times but that is also part of its draw. My wife and I and our 2 children spend many afternoons and evenings at Seaside Beach north of Fort Bragg. Here on the Coast there’s always something new for our children to learn and explore.
Kamstra Construction strives to elevate the projects we work on, from using quality materials to a high level of installation and finish. When working with sub contractors, we use only companies that attain the same level of detail in their work.
